I’ve been really on and off with fitness this year, but in the past few weeks, I’ve been finding myself becoming consistent with it and more motivated than ever! Pinterest has been my everything when it comes to finding new workouts to try or healthy recipes to cook; I refer to my Fitness boards every day!
At the end of the day, I’ve noticed that I save so much money when it comes to my fitness journey. Of course I had to share it with you all, so here it goes!
No Gym Membership
Every day that I work out, I do it for FREE (ish). My apartment complex has an adequately stocked gym with the basic cardio machines, weights, and even a room that allows residents to look up workout videos.
For me, someone who is just starting to become consistent with exercise, this gym is perfect for me. Not only does it hardly get crowded, it doesn’t require any extra fees for use (other than my monthly rent, of course). It’s also close by and doesn’t require any driving time (gas prices are killing me right now).
If you’re in a situation like mine, I highly suggest that you forgo the gym membership and use your complex gym. You’d be surprised how good of a workout you can get in with very little. Also, it’s a good idea to start out small when you’re just beginning. Once you prove to yourself that you can be consistent in the gym (and be realistic with yourself!), then you can go ahead and get a gym membership if you wish.

When you’re trying to lose weight, it’s extremely important to limit the amount of times you eat out. Controlling what you cook and eat in the kitchen is the biggest factor when wanting a more fit and healthy lifestyle.
I started meal prepping healthy meals within the last month and not only has it cut down on eating unhealthily, but it has cut a major amount down when it comes to spending.
A typical meal prep for me includes preparing overnight oats in mason jars for breakfast and preparing something to eat for lunch each weekday. My meals are very simple, low calorie, but still enjoyable and flavorful for me. Mornings have become so easy for me because all I have to do is grab my prepped breakfast and lunch, a couple of healthy snacks, and go!
Also, grocery shopping has yet to break the bank and I’ve found myself spending $30 or less on a weeks worth of meals!
Note: I’m a very simple girl and I can eat something that’s healthy with not too many ingredients for a long period of time if I like it enough! Certain go-to meals are just so much easier for me.
Don’t Give In To Gimmicks
I may offend some of you when I say this, but gimmicks are not worth it. Brands like ItWorks and Flat Tummy Tea are just outlets for companies to prey on people who want a quick fix for weight loss.
The secret to losing weight is simple: healthy, clean eating and regular exercise (and LOTS OF DISCIPLINE). There aren’t any body wraps or teas that can do this for you in a record amount of time. If there were, I’d be on it LOL.
Note: I’ve never been one to pay attention to/buy gimmick products, but I do know that it is a waste of money and time. It’s also more worth it to put your all into this journey instead of looking for a quick fix. Trust!
Hopefully these tips can help you save some money in your fitness journey! Getting fit and losing weight doesn’t have to cost a ton and there’s no need to invest in a personal trainer for workouts and meal prep ideas. There are so many useful resources around us for us to use that are free!
